Fabian Biasio – Profile

Portrait –

Fabian Biasio works as a cinematographer, filmmaker and photographer, specialising in documentary film and reportage. His professional roots lie in press photography, a field in which he worked for around ten years.

In 2013, he began focusing increasingly on multimedia and moving-image production after attending the workshop ‘Multimedia Storytelling and Web Documentary’ at the Akademie für Publizistik in Hamburg, led by Henrik Kastenskov, Poul Madsen and Uwe H. Martin.

His approach is characterised by close engagement with people, careful observation and an unobtrusive use of the camera. He often works alone or in small teams, combining journalistic experience with a precise visual approach. He is particularly interested in social and political issues, as well as stories that require time, trust and direct access to the people involved.
