Freelance director, cameraman and editor at Progressive Pictures.
Steven Blatter, born in 1978 in Nyon, is passionate about video and film. In 1998, he began training as a cameraman, sound engineer, and editor at a production company in Geneva. Three years later, he made it his profession and became a freelancer.
In 2003, he founded Progressive Pictures, and under this pseudonym, he has directed numerous music videos, short films, documentaries, and commercials. Some of his work has been selected for film festivals in Switzerland and Europe, and also acquired by Swiss and European television networks.
In 2013, he received the Best Swiss Video Clip award for the video "Walking with a Ghost." In 2014, he co-directed his first feature-length documentary, Jumping the Shadows, which was an official selection at Visions du Réel and was screened in Switzerland and abroad in 2015. In 2016 he co-directed the documentary "Festivals, the new eldorado" which was broadcast worldwide, then in 2017 he directed a new documentary "Time to dream" which premiered in March 2019 in Montreal.
In 2023, 2024 and 2025 has directed several TV show for swiss television RTS.
