Portrait –
Lorenz Ehrismann is a photographer and cameraman with nearly thirty years of experience in both still and moving pictures. His work is characterised by calm precision and a refined sense of visual language. Careful composition, strong teamwork skills and a respectful approach to collaboration shape his practice.
Today, he serves as a Director of Photography / cinematographer on independent projects and contributes to multi-camera environments across concerts, narrative and performing arts, corporate productions and live shows throughout Switzerland. He also works as a photographer.
His credits include major SRF productions such as the first and second seasons of MusicStar (Director: Paul Fischer), Top Dogs (Directors: Volker Hesse, Anton Reichlin), the Bregenz Opera (Director: Felix Breisach) and SILO 8 by Karl’s kühne Gassenschau (Director: Stefan Schmucki). Further work includes SRF 24H Polizei as well as eight years on the SRF soap Lüthi und Blanc (produced by C-Films AG, directed by Hans Liechti, Bernhard Weber, Urs Bernhard, Sabine Boss, Ralph Bridle, among others) and Die Zürcher Prozesse (Director: Milo Rau, Markus Tomsche).
He has also worked repeatedly as a cameraman in «Masterclass Schauspielführung» (acting coaches: Lena Lessing, Giles Foreman) within the FOCAL — Foundation for professional training in cinema and audiovisual media and since 2008 he has been involved in the filmed production of all Bach cantatas (J. S. Bach-Stiftung).
Lorenz Ehrismann is furthermore the initiator and founder of a media lab within an educational institution — a dedicated and growing experimental laboratory for digital and analogue media — and of Cinematographers Schweiz Suisse Svizerra Svizra — a project to strengthen the visibility of cinematographers in Switzerland.
